Module 4: What Works for you? Interview

I interviewed my mom, brother, and roommate and asked them how they deal with the stress and anxiety that life throws at us. My mom uses retail therapy and gospel music to relax her mind, self care is the best care. While my brother is the type to run away from his problem, he goes to work or pick up shifts to get his mind off of what’s bothering him. My roommate goes to the gym, plays the piano, and listens to music to release her stress and anxiety. I personally sleep, cry, or binge-watch really good shows on Netflix to release stress. I am typically not an emotional person, but when I am stress I am also not the type to bottle my emotions up, I’d rather talk about what’s bothering me.

My mom and my roommate’s ways to release stress especially listening to music can definitely relax you this is a healthy method to release stress. I love to spring clean my home while listening to music, it is such a relaxing environment knowing that everything is clean and the energy is positive. As far as my brother’s approach, in my opinion, is not healthy at all. Picking up shifts and overworking myself would literally burn me out. I understand that yes he will have a great pay week, but that wears on your body negatively and that will eventually catch up with him. Overworking in comparison is like exam week for me, which would literally stress me out, overworking myself just to stress myself out, even more, would not be effective for me. But to each is it is own on how everyone is different and releases stress in different ways. I love how my roommate focuses on her mental health by excersing and staying healthy when stress, many people overeat or make bad eating choices when under stress. ⅔ interviews, we had similar ways to release stress, which was listening to music or even my roommate playing her piano, I think was healthy and of course the excersing to stay in shape and release stress!
